We have recently unboxed a few new Luxman components to add to our demo portfolio and setup a little system for some testing purposes. We decided to pair the Luxman stack up with some Dali Epikore 7 speakers, the Luxman, Dali combination has always been a great synergy and one that both companies have utilised at HiFi shows.
The system comprised of Luxman C-10X preamp, M-10X power amp, D07X CD Player, DA-07X DAC and NT-07 streamer. Dali Epikore 7 Speakers and all wired together with Jorma Designs Unity cabling. The Solid Tech Radius rack provided the perfect housing for it all.
First thing of note is the tactile experience of the well-machined and superb craftsmanship of the Luxman products, each component from Luxman boasts exceptional build quality. The satisfying click of the power buttons, the solid motion of the CD drawer, and the reassuringly weighted feel of the volume knob on the C-10X pre, all demonstrated Luxman’s build quality. The top plates of the C10X and M10X are a work of precision, and all the units have a solid chassis and thick front plates, you instantly feel the build quality and precision engineering from the moment you unbox them.
It only takes a few tracks to really appreciate what this Luxman stack is capable of, clean, richly detailed, and tonally balanced but most importantly emotionally engaging. A silky rich midrange, with a fast transient response, it handled everything from smooth funk to aggressive percussion pieces superbly.
The DALI Epikore 7 speakers are something quite special, their soundstage projects wide and deep but with a solidity to every instrument and vocals that you can just picture them in front of you. Even in complex passages, the spatial layering remained intact. The icing on the cake for the Dali Epikore speakers are their stunning real-wood veneers, finished with a highly polished piano lacquer, they look fantastic and in particular our Maroon pair of Epikore 7.
