The shock-mounted, steel-caged slot-loading transport plays SACD, CD-A, CD-R and CD-RW, while network streaming over Ethernet or Wi-Fi and a USB-A input take care of your digital library — with native support for hi-res PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD to 5.6MHz.

The PrecisionLink II DAC

At the heart of the № 5101 sits Mark Levinson's PrecisionLink II converter: an ESS Sabre 32-bit PRO DAC fed by five ultra-low-noise voltage regulators, with proprietary jitter-elimination circuitry and a fully balanced, discrete current-to-voltage stage. User-selectable digital filters — seven for PCM, four for DSD — let you fine-tune the presentation to your system and taste. Coaxial and optical inputs mean it will elevate every digital source in your rack, not just its own.

Pure analogue thinking

Digital convenience means nothing without an analogue stage worthy of the name. The № 5101 employs Mark Levinson's fully discrete, direct-coupled PurePath output circuitry in a true dual-monaural layout, powered by a linear supply with an oversized toroidal transformer dedicated to the analogue section. The result is the wide-open dynamics, vanishingly low noise and effortless refinement the marque is famous for — delivered via balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs.

Built like a Levinson

The one-inch-thick, bead-blasted, black-anodised aluminium front panel flows into a sleek recessed glass display, with machined aluminium controls and a matching aluminium remote. Full integration support — Ethernet IP control, RS-232, IR and 12V trigger — makes it as at home in a custom installation as on an audiophile rack. It's the perfect partner for the № 5805 or № 5802 integrated amplifiers, and a statement source for any high-end system.
