IL CREMONESE EX3ME

More than 5 years since its debut, Il Cremonese remains one of the most popular loudspeaker
systems in the Sonus faber portfolio. Initially introduced with the intention of completing the Homage collection,
due to its superb capability, this speaker immediately placed itself among the ranks of
Sonus faber’s Reference collection catalogue, the line that perfectly exemplifies
the brand’s excellence. This particular predilection turned the Il Cremonese
into the perfect platform for one of the most important activities
of the electro-acoustic design: experimentation. This is the birth
of a unique loudspeaker system, embellished by the return of an historical
Sonus faber finish: the classic “Red Violin”.

BERYLLIUM DLC

The ex3me Cremonese inherits the tweeter with diaphragm in Beryllium DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) from Ex3ma. Sonus faber temporarily puts aside its iconic Damped Apex Dome ™ tweeter with treated silk diaphragm to take advantage of the sonic contribution of this transducer.
Exceptional in terms of transparency, speed and micro-dynamics, the beryllium diaphragm has formidable physical characteristics for structural rigidity and lightness, but is characterized by a typical "metallic" attitude.

To smooth this trend, the "Chemical Vapor Deposition" processing is used: a layer of diamond carbon is deposited on the surface of the diaphragm which not only darkens the surface, but gives the Beryllium some of the typical properties of diamonds, including hardness and amorphous nature.
The diaphragm thus obtained is therefore more rigid for the same mass: the result is a shift of the resonance frequency upwards which will also be damped in intensity.
The result is a lightning-fast, highly detailed, airy and colorless sound.
